ABOUT JACA
\nJaca is a consumer health and food company focused on building a category-defining brand around allulose, a rare sugar that directly addresses growing consumer skepticism toward traditional sugar alternatives. Unlike artificial or high-intensity sweeteners that often fail on taste or performance, allulose is an actual sugar, meaning it tastes, bakes, and cooks just like conventional sugar without the typical drawbacks.
\n \nAn important distinction is that allulose is itself a sugar. The FDA describes allulose as a sugar that is metabolised differently from traditional sugars, distinguishing it from high-intensity sweeteners such as aspartame that are not chemical sweeteners.
\n \nUnder current FDA guidance, manufacturers may use 0.4 calories per gram for allulose and exclude it from Total Sugars and Added Sugars declarations on Nutrition Facts labels. That distinction matters because consumers continue to want less sugar without wanting to compromise on the food experience they already know.
\n \nRather than asking consumers to fundamentally change how they cook, bake, drink coffee, or enjoy food, the company provides a genuinely familiar path to reducing conventional sugar using an actual sugar that behaves like sucrose in the kitchen. Research into allulose strongly supports that proposition.
\nConsumer sensory research has found allulose-sweetened formulations perform similarly to old school sugar in taste and overall liking, while studies of bakery applications have shown allulose can contribute to browning, texture and other functional characteristics associated with conventional sugar. The evidence suggests that allulose behaves very differently from many high-intensity sweeteners.
\n \nJaca has moved beyond initial product development and is now generating consumer revenue through direct-to-consumer and Amazon channels, developing repeat purchasing behaviour, B2B, distribution, expanding its product portfolio and building a wider consumer platform around health, nutrition and wellbeing.
\n \nThe company has previously attracted external capital and has developed an advisory network with experience spanning major consumer, retail, distribution, financial and food-science organisations. As Jaca enters its next stage of commercial development, the company is selectively expanding its Executive Advisory Board.
\n \nTHE OPPORTUNITY
\nJaca is seeking a limited number of Members of the board of advisors aligned with the company's commercial growth, consumer expansion and long-term development.
\nThis role is distinct from formal membership of the Board of Directors but operates in close strategic alignment with Founder and President Pete Ferrari and the wider leadership team. Executive Advisory Board Members will typically be experienced executives, founders, operators and private investors who can contribute strategic perspective, commercial experience and relevant relationships as Jaca scales.
\nJaca is interested in individuals who understand what is required to build, finance and scale a consumer company and who are prepared to develop meaningful long term alignment with the business.
\n \nWHY JACA
\nJaca is entering this next phase with a bold vision: to become the category defining brand in allulose, the name consumers associate with the ingredient itself.
\nWhile many companies in the space simply sell a sweetener, Jaca is building something broader. The company is developing a health focused ecosystem around allulose, supported by consumer education, the Foundation for Nutritional Equality, manufacturing IP, media, community initiatives and a wider health and wellbeing platform.
\n \nThe business already has an existing shareholder base and an experienced network spanning consumer brands, grocery, retail, distribution, food science, finance and public policy, including backgrounds from Coca Cola, Walmart, UNFI, Ocean Spray and JP Morgan.
\n \nJaca believes the allulose category will not be won simply by reselling an ingredient. It will be won by building the brand, trust and ecosystem that consumers choose to stay with.
\n \nTHE FOUNDER
\nJaca is led by Pete Ferrari, a serial entrepreneur whose career across telecommunications, enterprise software, procurement technology, and real estate development has repeatedly involved operating in early adopter environments undergoing significant structural change. Across those ventures, Pete learned that customers in emerging markets need more than just a product—they need education, awareness, trust, and a clear reason to change existing behaviors. That experience directly shapes his strategic approach to building Jaca within the allulose category.
\n \nJaca is also personal. Pete’s father was killed when he was 10 years old and he experienced significant nutritional insecurity during his childhood. Those experiences contributed to his belief that access to better nutrition should not depend entirely on income, background or circumstance. That mission now sits alongside the commercial development of Jaca.
\n \nPete has also been selected to speak at TEDxArkansasStateUniversity in September 2026, where his talk, Nutrition is Destiny - Beware the False Prophets , will explore nutrition, food systems and how consumers interpret the choices available to them. Pete reiterated these elements of Jaca’s positioning in his recent feedback on the campaign.
\n \nTHE CATEGORY OPPORTUNITY & MARKET MOMENTUM
\nJaca's ambition is not simply to become another company selling allulose. The company is working to build the consumer brand associated with the category itself. That distinction is important because allulose awareness remains relatively early while consumer interest in reducing conventional sugar is already significant.
\n \nThe underlying consumer problem is well understood: the International Food Information Council’s 2025 Food & Health Survey found that 75% of Americans are actively trying to limit or avoid sugars, while 80% report that it can be difficult to know what to believe about nutrition. Furthermore, taste remains a primary driver, with 85% indicating it affects their purchasing decisions. While consumer interest in reducing sugar is significant, awareness of allulose as a viable solution is still developing. Jaca believes this creates a major opportunity for a brand that can combine product excellence with education, transparent brand positioning, multi-channel distribution, and digital acquisition.
\n \nJaca is moving from early commercial validation into a broader scaling phase—expanding consumer awareness, increasing acquisition, strengthening inventory and distribution, and broadening its product portfolio. Modern consumers look beyond traditional marketing, seeking credible nutrition insights and authentic, trust-based relationships with brands. By establishing education and credibility at the core of its strategy, Jaca is positioning itself for category leadership rather than competing solely as an ingredient supplier. Joining the Advisory Board now allows advisors to actively shape this commercial transition.
\n \nBUILDING MORE THAN A SUGAR BRAND
\nJaca is developing around the belief that the company behind the product increasingly matters alongside the product itself. The wider platform includes health and wellbeing education, media content, community initiatives and the Foundation for Nutritional Equality nonprofit, which reflects Pete's personal connection to nutritional insecurity.
\n \nThe company has developed Provisional Patent protected intellectual property around its manufacturing approach and broader infrastructure intended to support future scale. These initiatives are designed to create a more substantial, meaningful and loyal relationship between Jaca and its customers, rather than simply competing on price for an ingredient.
\n \nThat approach also creates strategic differentiation from companies whose primary model is simply sourcing and reselling allulose or incorporating it into a broader portfolio of sweeteners.
\nJaca's long-term objective is therefore not merely participation in an emerging category. It is category leadership.
\n \nROLE OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ADVISORS
\nMembers of the board of advisors may contribute strategic perspective across:
\nEngagement is strategic and periodic, not operational. The precise role of each advisor will depend upon their background and where their experience can create the greatest value for Jaca.
\n \nCOMPENSATION
\nThis is an equity-based advisory position aligned with ownership participation in the company.
\nMembers of the Board of Advisors are selected for individuals who believe strategic contribution and long-term ownership alignment should operate together.
\nThis is not a cash-compensated position.
\n \nIDEAL PROFILE
\nWe are seeking senior executives, founders, operators and investors with 10+ years of leadership experience across consumer, food and beverage, retail, e-commerce, health and wellness, manufacturing, brand development, strategic partnerships or private investing.
\nRelevant backgrounds may include senior leadership, founder, partner or board-level roles. We are particularly interested in individuals who have built, scaled or exited businesses, understand consumer markets, bring strong commercial relationships and take a long-term strategic approach to company involvement.
\n \nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMITMENT
\nJaca welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and believes varied perspectives strengthen strategic decision making and company growth.
